Responsibilities
of Volunteer Mediators
The mediators of the Conflict Resolution Services Program at UPCAP Services, Inc. are community volunteers extensively trained and supported by the program. Our professional staff contains a multitude of trained volunteers from many ethnic, social, educational and vocational backgrounds who serve as mediators, facilitators and communication trainers.
Through the mediation programs, staff and trained volunteers help a variety of clients identify problems, clarify perspectives and concerns, develop viable options and reach inclusive and mutually
satisfactory agreements. As a result of public relations, outreach and training efforts, more and more people are recognizing the value of non-adversarial, collaborative approaches to working through complex situations and developing workable agreements.
